Description: Chung's memoirs provide a rare English language account of the life of a Korean soldier and a touching portrait of the American dream. Born in Northeastern Korea during Japanese occupation, Chung moved with his family to the large industrial center of Harbin until they returned home at the end of WWII, at which point he began his training in medicine until his studies were disrupted by the Korean war. He moved south with the army as a refugee and eventually enlisted.

A fine copy, in very good, mylar covered dust jacket with small closed tears at top and bottom edge.
