Big game hunting with young Churchill as guide; a travelogue of Britain's East Africa possessions written by the then-Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies. The first English edition is particularly coveted for its handsome cover woodcut of the author posed beside a trophy rhinoceros. The more plainly-bound American edition, which utilized English first edition sheets, has no woodcut on its brownish-red buckram cover but is a far rarer book.

Description: Churchill's book, MY AFRICAN JOURNEY was first conceived as a series of articles for The Strand Magazine, a serialization that ultimately comprised nine articles, of which this was the seventh.

This is a very good copy of the original magazine, with some chipping and loss of an inch at the head and tail of the spine. Some words rare faintly inked on the front cover, else fine
