Description: A Polish novelist, journalist, explorer and professor, Ossendowski was a chemist cooperating with the Russian army during the Russo-Japanese War. After the 1905 revolution he was briefly president of the Russian Far Eastern Republic, before being jailed for two years. A very good copy, light edge wear, partly uncut, endpapers lightly foxed, in chipped dust jacket (360 pages.)
