Description: The memoirs of Antoine Moreau de Jonnes who was called up for the national guard at the age of 13 during France's short lived constitutional monarchy. The author became aquatinted with illustrious figures of the period during his time in Paris and joined the revolutionary forces as a volunteer in 1792. As a member of the Navy in 1793 de Jonnes witnessed several key conflicts and his writings provide an enlightening personal narrative of the French Revolution. A very good copy, spine faded, corners bumped, owner's name on front paste-down, without dust jacket, in protective plastic cover.
